April 26, 2021
We are excited to announce that APrIGF 2021 will be held on 27-30 September 2021 in a HYBRID format, combining physical attendance in Kathmandu, Nepal, and at various local hubs, as well as online participation.
Kathmandu, Nepal as Local Host
This year we are happy to have Nepal, as the official host of APrIGF 2021. The conference will be held in Kathmandu organized by Internet Governance Institute, Nepal Internet Foundation, Internet Society Nepal and NPIX, supported by APrIGF Secretariat - DotAsia. This provides a physical platform and venue for people in the region able to travel to Kathmandu, to attend and gather physically, while others can also participate virtually.
Local Hubs
We welcome the participation of local hubs which, by definition, will be self-organized and self-supported local meetings that take place in parallel with the APrIGF sessions. Hub organizers are expected to stimulate discussions at the national and sub-national levels by promoting local points of presence (hubs) where small audiences will, where possible, enjoy an opportunity to be physically present throughout the event. Further details on how to host a APrIGF 2021 local hub will be announced shortly.
Online Participation
Since the pandemic, online participation has been an important part of any conferences. We will be using Zoom as our main platform for sessions, and also offer live streaming on other platforms like Youtube, etc.. Registration will be required for all on-site or online participants. Register here now!
