The Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) is an annual regional event of the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) process, and serves as a platform for discussion, exchange and collaboration of Internet Governance issues in the Asia Pacific region.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our originally selected host for 2017 is unable to complete its obligations for hosting APrIGF 2017. The APrIGF Multistakeholder Steering Group (MSG) is now calling for all interested prospective hosts for APrIGF 2017 to send in an Expression of Interest (EOI) to [email protected] by 21 November, 2016, 24:00 UTC. Kindly include the hosting organization and primary contact information in the EOI.
Given the tighter timeline for hosting APrIGF 2017, we encourage prospective hosts to communicate closely with the APrIGF Secretariat [email protected] to seek any clarifications on requirements before your submission.
Furthermore, we understand that the financial and logistical challenges for hosting the APrIGF are non-trivial. In considering the conditions, the MSG assures prospective hosts for APrIGF 2017 that flexibility towards certain meeting requirements will be accepted. In particular, choices for accommodation, catering and social events. The APrIGF Secretariat stands ready also to support website, registration and other administrative coordination alongside the local host. Essential components to ensure a successful conference experience nevertheless will need to be upheld. These include, with priority for remote participation, reasonable meeting facilities and support for participants, government invitations and related visa assistance.
The APrIGF MSG is thankful for interested prospective hosts for APrIGF 2017 and we look forward to working with you to facilitate this meaningful platform for Internet Governance.
